While designing a predictive analysis system presented through a fun-to-use
timeline UI, I've been looking lately at a lot of these scale-based
paradigms:

(To those who frequent places like the Hayden Planetarium in NYC or who
still remember the great "Powers of Ten" Eases classic this should be
familiar. But it still is a great, fundamental exercise to think about the
notion of relative scale and orientation.)
