Ziya, I'm tyring to understand how your suggested solution works as I
could certainly use it.  Apologies for prodding a little too deeply,
my understanding was that the text highlighthing (or selection) is
done at the OS level, when draging across multiple cells a drag select
will look like a drag pan to any event watchers in the browser. I'm
open to being corrected on that.

And a confession, while your original suggestion caught my eye as a
novel solution with potential I've been running on the on the
assumption that its certainly not feasible, possibly not even
possible.  In my very modest experience I've found a true mark of a
good developer/designer/arhitect is their ability to accept mistakes
and move on.  I just wanted to see how far you'd go before resorting
to the authoritive stance.
