How about the need to have *reliable and free* access to _my_ data on
my laptop in whatever Luddite-ridden data backwater I've managed to
land in? Even if there's a city-wide power outage, I can still
entertain the neighbors with my cat photos for an hour or so.
It's not about a 'sense' of possession. It's about _actual_
possession. For example, I have a very good collection of hyperlinks
about interesting matters, but I still save the really important
items to the local filesystem.

Not to be confrontational, but tell that to whatever lead wall is
between my living room and the nearest T-Mobile cell tower.
