[Sigia-l] Need published proof that scrolling text is not good

Folk, please help. It's awful that my new client doesn't believe me. Although she took most of my usability and navigation suggestions for the new site she's developing, the scrolling text on the home page is still there. The text is a law that formed the basis for the whole site being built--I don't want to mention the name because the site is still in development. In other words, this text is pretty important.

And get this: the box in which the text scrolls has a title over it. The title is: "Interesting, Isn't It?"

Arrrrrgggghhh!

If I could give her some "official" opinions, perhaps she'd change her mind.
