[Sigia-l] What are the important AI topics?

After scanning the "considerate" thread, I noticed somefolks seem to
have pretty well defined topics they feel appropriate to an AI
discussion, while others are far more loose about the matter.  This made
me wonder....

... what are the most important topics in AI right now?  What are the
most appropriate topics to post about here?
