I noticed you tell me it's nonsensical and then tell me to get more familiar
with the analogy. Interesting. And you are aware, I'm sure, that neither
first chair nor second char lawyer is also the judge. Which is still my
point.
>> The role you are talking about is that of Systems Engineer
>No kiddin'. You haven't followed a word I'm saying.
I've followed, but disagree. You want to give this authority to the
"experienced designer." I claim that's a conflict of interest and not a
proper solution..
>> "Designer who want more power" still need to know their place.
>In any case, you have finally arrived at the shrine of "design by
>committee."
To use your exaggerated phrase, now you're not following a word I'm saying.
I never said the alternative was design by committee. I said the
responsibility you're talking about is not to be given to one of the team
members. It to be given to a lead with overarching responsibility who is
knowledgably of all the disciplines but neutral in each one. IOW, a Systems
Engineer.

(I do love your hyperbole - interminable stay, languishing, etc. It's soooo
conducive to a good discussion. )
You're still advocating a team. You just want to give decision making
authority over to the "experienced designer" - which, as I've said, is a
change but not a good one. Its a conflict of interest to put that person or
the CIOs, CFOs, BAs, PMs, IT heads, developers, accountants in charge of the
project. But your claim that no one else is equipped to fill the vacuum
except your "experienced designers" is... hmmmm... what word comes to
mind... nonsensical.
