Given enough time and sufficient degree of torture I suppose anybody can be
made to understand anything. Question is, to what end?

Fact: To make adequate use of UML, non-programmers must be exposed to
notions like objects, classes, messaging, inheritance, methods, attributes,
etc.

Fact: You do *not* need UML to depict higher level notions regarding
architecture/process to *non-programmers*.

I see absolutely no reason whatsoever to resort to UML (or any other
unnecessary layer of complication) to communicate with non-programmers.
