Proxicom is currently seeking an experienced Information Architect for
a contract position in the Marina Del Rey office in South California.

Job responsibilities:

The information architect will support the user experience manager,
project manager, and delivery director/account manager in producing
deliverables for, public-facing corporate Web sites. He or she should
have a solid background developing information site flows, creating
page schematics (wireframes, navigation frameworks), conducting
usability testing and evaluations, and creating interactive prototypes
in HTML.

- Collaborate closely with a creative team (project manager, creative
producer, art directors, designers, front-end developers) to produce
client deliverables
- Conduct website reviews (heuristic analyses)
- Help gather and analyze client and user requirements. 
- Create both high-level and detailed information site flows as needed
to illustrate content organization, processes, and functionality
- Create wireframes showing navigation requirements and content priorities
- Provide usability and user interface design recommendations to the design team
- Use provided and self-conducted research as a foundation for
decisions and deliverables.
- Conduct or assist with usability test development, administration,
evaluation, and reporting
- Support research and development of the latest user-centered methods
and techniques.
 
Specific experience and skills:

3 years information architecture experience with a corporation,
agency, and/or consultancy; 1-2 years experience planning, conducting
and evaluating usability tests

- BS/BA degree in design, writing, communication, business, human
factors, technology or other relevant field
- Graduate work in human factors desired.
- A minimum of 2-3 years information architecture experience with a
corporation, agency, and/or consultancy
- 1-2 years experience planning, conducting and evaluating usability
tests and/or  conducting other types of user experience studies (card
sorting, persona development, etc)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Visio 2000/2002 
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and the
Microsoft Office product suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Facility with writing for the Web (navigation taxonomy,
heads/subheads, some body copy); also ability to create Web site
content guidelines
- Understanding of web site metrics.

This is a heavy client and partner-facing position. Must be able to
articulate the value and basis of information architecture and
usability to client and partners when presenting deliverables.

Will have part time responsibilities for multiple projects.
