This has been out there for a while and involves one of my heroes, but I
keep thinking I'm missing something here:
We are aiming to make text more interactive - turning words into hyperwords.
Why? Most electronic communication has focused on the production of
information, not the digestion of information. In order to make informed
decisions in our work, it's not enough to rely on automated systems - we
need to get the right information into our heads.
The web is a great step forward in information access and you can think of
this project as an effort to turn web 'browsers' into web 'readers'. This is
not about 'links' it's about interactive text - text you can issue commands
on, such as 'highlight this word in red' or 'look up the dictionary
definition of this word'.

Have they not heard of browser extensions, Greasemonkey or channeled Ted
