Ah! but there is a movement afoot and new movements on the way.
MS is not "THE platform" any longer, or it isn't the ONLY level that
the platform exists on any more, so its "ubiquity" that it used to
conqueor the world has some gapes in its armor.
The biggest possibility for change would come through 2 exchanges that
could happen.
1. Google does as is rumored and build a browser of its own on the
Gecko (or even konqueor) platforms.
2. The security problems that have plagued IE actually make the
business case in this day and age very compelling for moving away from
IE.
Your code issue iss a good one ... no doubt ... But unless you doing
highly complex applications there is a lot of cross-over and
downwards/upward degradability that could be done w/
IE/Mozilla/Safari. It means more testing, but not more coding. ;)
