Job Description
The Information Architect is responsible for crafting the details of task
flow, user interface, and functional requirements for an interactive
system. The IA will research audience needs, stakeholder expectations, and
business requirements within a technical platform and design the structure
for a targeted and highly valuable online experience.

Core Skills and Experience Required:
• Ability to conduct client and target audience interviews / analysis.
• Understanding of all other major components of Web development such as
Visual Design, Writing, Technology implementation and Strategic
positioning.
• Ability to take all learned information and create a site or system’s
skeleton, mapping out the paths and task flows users will follow.
• Ability to structure and document the requirements for a non-linear user
experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an IA engagement, as manager of a team of IAs.
• Proven success in the research and conducting of usability studies.
• Strong foundation in Web site production concepts regarding HTML, XML,
CMS, and other dynamic web site technologies.
• Familiarity with Web site tracking and analytical tools as well as user
surveys.
• Proficient with Adobe Illustrator and Visio for creation of site maps
and schematics (wireframe) documentation.
• A strong ability to present ideas visually and verbally for clients and
internal team members.


Requirements
4+ years in Web site production or Internet consulting are required.
Related coursework or employment experience in some of the following is
recommended: human-computer interaction, psychology, architecture, visual
or performing arts, computer science, literature, experience design.
