Thanks Austin!
I forgot to mention. The bottom line here is that marketing wants to be
able to tie a target page to the publication of the "special keyword" in
a printed marketing piece. Basically they want to track the
cross-channel conversion.
I'm not getting how a "Best Bets" implementation would get me to the
desired result. Maybe more elaboration on my part is needed.
Our "special keywords" are not really words, they are word constructs
that do not appear in nature -- or our search collection. Like
"homerefi" or "lowrates". Since they are unique, and they are only
assigned as subject keyword data to one page, we can return one result
always -- if the "special keyword" is entered correctly. Enter "home
refi" and all bets are off. Yes, a kludge, but waaay better than the
current alphanumeric code we ask our customers to enter now for the same
purpose.
Thanks!

This is analogous to "Best bets" implementations.
Typically with best bets, a search query triggers a list of most likely
results (as determined by a human) above the actual results for that
query.
In your case, instead of triggering the display of best bets, your
keyword would trigger the redirect to the actual page.
