Hi, all --

I first came across the Kano Model in 2000 when a client asked us to present our
initial project analysis to them in a framework which they could understand and
more easily digest. I've had plenty of time since them to think about how we
might be able to use the Kano Model to aid in the work that we do as
information architects (or user experience designers, if you wish). The Kano
Model may be especially useful both as a means of describing priorities for
features and functions (which is how MBAs use it) informed by
user/business/technical analysis, as well as a tool for jump-starting difficult
conversations with clients.

I wrote a presentation on the topic and gave it at the last UPA (Usability
Professionals Assocation) mini-conference in Boston this past May. You can
download the PDF of the presentation from my web site at:

Cheers,
Anthony
