If you ever wanted to show others the difference between an HTML-based and a
Flash-based app (or a RIA, to succumb to the lingo) doing the same thing,
there's a nifty little app, phpFlashMyAdmin:

that mimics the venerable phpMyAdmin, without the page refreshes:

The design aspects of phpFlashMyAdmin are pretty sparse (as Flash RIAs go)
but it handily demonstrates the usability advantages of the approach.
On a related matter, the question of how to display changing info without a
page refresh always comes up on this list. I've described some methods
previously, but here's a new article that outlines how the XMLHttpRequest
object can get/post XML data directly without page refreshing.
