[Sigia-l] Topic maps and IA

I just finished it as well, and can say further that it does a great
job of situating topic maps in the context of subject-based controlled
vocabularies. It helped me better understand the relationships between
topic maps and ontologies.
All-in-all, a great exercise in bridge-building between one of those
doing the heavy lifting building next-gen knowledge infrastructure and
IAs--the folks who should be most interested in exploiting that
technology! I'm thankful that Mr. Garshol has continued his work
trying to get our community excited about what topic maps can do for
us. It's a brave new world past the boundaries of taxonomies and
thesauri. Now if the TM-aware toolset ecosystem would just calm down a
bit...
