Thanks Sarah. 

Case studies would be a huge help to people implementing Dublin Core
metadata. 

My biggest question is whether or not it is practicle to first implement
Simple Dublin Core and then move up gradually to Qualified Dublin Core. Has
anyone tried this?

FYI - I've found the resources at dublincore.org and at the Open Archive
Initiative to be very helpful and plain speaking. We were also lucky enough
to get some consultation with Diane Hillman herself, who got us up to speed
very quickly.
