Really? We say »Sprenger« or »Sprinkler«. We could say  
»Wasserberieselungsanlage«. But we don't. :)

The funny thing with translations is: Sometimes it looks like the  
translators just took the first word from the dictionary or one that they  
thought to be »most accurate«. But living language isn't accurate. I  
understand the english part of the manual for my new graphic card better  
than the german text...
