Being professional includes how one treats co-workers. Your way of
treating the assistant is hardly a decent way of dealing with a
person, let alone a co-worker.

Your thread-starting message said, "So I decided to write his boss an
e-mail."
Later within the same message, you confirmed that you did send the
message. You wrote: "After sending the message, I went to the
adjoining room..."
Thus, I concluded that you complained to his boss.

Nowhere within your thread-starting message did you say that you did
NOT actually send the message.
