"How to See" by George Nelson. Available through Design Within Reach (http://www.dwr.com/productdetail.cfm?id=4755).
In addition to being a brilliant designer, responsible for mid-century modern icons such as the 'bubble lamp', Nelson was a compulsive photographer, finding design in the built (and destroyed) environments around him. A must-have for big-picture thinking.

ok, so my wife has said "yes" to a sentence that contains the words,
"books", "amazon" and "credit card". :)
What's some good books to buy?
I've a hankering to read big-picture books, books that challenge
you, make you see things in a new way, as opposed to more narrow,
technical, "how-to" books.
I guess there should be some way of relating them to the internet!
Recommendations?
Thanks.
