When we see white space we fill it up.
When 9/11 happens, our president asks us to be patriotic and go shopping.
When a simple app would suffice, we dump it and install a $5 million CRM
package.

If you use a single searchbox that can actually find things, what would
happen to all the IAs that index, tag, card sort and create sitemaps?
If all workflows and interfaces were simplified, what would happen to all
the high-priced MBI, ESD and PricewaterhouseHoopers consultants?
If the modeling process were simplified and rationalized, what would happen
to all the ULM, PUR and GRUMP app vendors?

This talk of less is better is dangerous and, let's face it, unAmerican.
