I've looked at the abstract at:
http://www.nupr.neu.edu/10-03/good_design.PDF
GD> Thus, our analysis revealed that firms rated as having 'good' design
GD> were stronger on virtually all financial measures examined.

GD> These findings provide strong evidence that good design boosts
GD> firms' financial performance and is rewarded by stock market
GD> premiums.
IOW, the statistical data showed a correlation of firms 'rated as having
good design' and 'being stronger on virtually all financial measures
examined.'
But correlation is not causality. The data has NOT shown that good
design "boosts" a firm's financial performance.
