The "Munich affair" has many dimensions to it. Unfortunately, open source
solutions do not really obviate the issue of "licensing, support, and
professional services after the sale." In fact, open source companies'
business models explicitly rely on post-installation, ongoing support, which
is the only place they make significant money. Indeed, one can argue that
this economic necessity is the principal impediment to making open source
software more usable.
