GREAT!! So, what area can us 'meruhkuns hope to get work in the web??
Honestly, I hope IA doesn't go the way of the shipped overseas job, I'd like
to get back in the game, get my masters and move to Asia to teach folks IA
;^)
At this rate, I might already be in the only technology related field with
any currency: hands on tech support. It's going to be awhile before supply
chains can compete with someone who can simply swap a NIC card in 5 minutes.
With increasing bandwidth, greater storage, higher processing power and
decentralized services, everything could , potentially, be designed and
hosted from a foreign market charging rock-bottom prices that American firms
won't be able to compete with, leaving the 2nd level help desk the only job
in town (if 1st = call center and 3rd = project and architecture) :-(
So are the American tech services fields destined to be the next Allentown
and East Chicago?
