[Sigia-l] navigation in large universities' websites

Hello Sigiallers,

I am looking for opinions on navigation possibilities from folks that have
experience working with large universities' web sites.

Would you consider a certain type of navigation more effective over another
in these types of sites? (I.e. large university with 20000+ students, 2000+
faculty + staff, etc) Do you have any stories or studies about making
navigation choices in this context? (I.e. Mixing different navigation
models, or how one is more fitting to a particular audience, etc) I'd also
be interested in hearing about overall structure decisions; how flexible
should the structure be to allow growth, while remaining consistent
throughout?

I know it's a broad question, but I would love to toss some ideas around. If
