[Sigia-l] why does every thread end up in the same place?

I am on this list to learn about IA, about information architects,
about fields that are very closely related to content strategy and
content management (which are what I focus on).

So many of the threads on this list end up with exactly the same
people having exactly the same discussion. Isn't there some way to
get past those?

As a list member, I agree that information architecture is still
evolving (and probably always will be) -- partially because the web
is still evolving and partially because as it evolves, its needs
evolve. I know that IAs have skills that sometimes resemble design,
sometimes library science, sometimes strategy, sometimes "user
experience" (which didn't exist until pretty recently) and sometimes
even content strategy/content management.

Again, can't we just make those statements once and for all and just move on?
