I was one of the IAs responsible for the just released redesign of
Kodak.com. We decided to dispense with breadcrumbs entirely because
of the possibility of users entering through multiple paths. We briefly
discussed showing alternate breadcrumb trails based on your context,
but Technology was concerned about the additional complexity this
would bring.
Instead we went with a combination of persistent top nav and left
nav items to ground the user in where they are. I think it works
pretty well < www.kodak.com >
