[Sigia-l] Unix compatible databases

I thought this was possible, but it might not be.

As far as I can tell:

  - CF works on both Windows and Unix (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX). 

  - On windows you can use ODBC or the native Access driver

  - On Unix you need to use the native driver (it doesn't look like
    they support ODBC on Unix). They don't have a native driver for
    Access.

  - This is kinda weird since there are ODBC drives for Unix (eg:
    redhat includes ODBC drivers with their standard distribution).
    You'd think CF would support ODBC across the board.     

  - The driver support varies across the different versions of CF
    (professional, enterprise, and J2EE)
    

Someone who uses CF on a regular basis can probably fill you in. I
know people who use CF on linux a lot, but I don't think they
connect it to Access.
