Method is looking for a Senior Interaction Designer to join our San
Francisco office.
Interaction designers at Method develop underlying concepts and detail
user interface elements behind large-scale web sites, software
applications, and wireless devices. Oft referred to as "User Experience
Design', 'Information Architecture', 'User Interface Design',
'Usability' and 'Interaction Design', this is the structure and
function side of the house. Ideally you can start on a full time or
contract basis within 1-2 weeks.
You:
- will conduct formal and guerilla user research and map findings to
detailed product specifications
- will create boxes and arrows that succeed in marrying business,
technology, and user needs
- enjoy thinking at a systemic level as well as working out the details
- will lead brainstorming sessions and understand the power of the
post-it
- are not afraid to code a prototype or talk with engineers
- must be able to convincingly articulate your ideas
- will deal directly with clients
- will manage others
- will be managed by others
- will work collaboratively
- must demonstrate the highest quality thinking, presentation and
execution.
Also:
- you respect the precedents and ideologues of HCI and design, but look
to define new approaches and break some rules
- you know who J. Müller Brockman is and if not you already like him
- 3-5 years direct experience required. Advanced degrees in relevant
fields are preferred but not necessary.
Method is a design firm located in San Francisco and New York. The firm
was founded in January, 1999. Over the past four years, the firm has
provided services to over seventy clients including Autodesk, Gucci,
Palm Computing and Macromedia.
We believe that our success is due to the collaborative efforts of
multiple disciplines within the company. The three primary disciplines
are: Interaction, Design and Technology. On each interactive project,
these three disciplines are involved throughout to insure that
usability, feasibility and branding concerns are considered.
Interested? Send a brief overview of your personal design philosophy,
