One of the most wonderful things (if not the most wonderful thing) about
an intranet is that you have a very limited user base.
I am currently working on redesigning an intranet site, and I have found
this limited scope to be a blessing. Only a small(ish) group of people
will be using this highly specialized site. Admittedly, this is not
always the case with an intranet site, but it is here.
Your customers are just a few steps or clicks away, and it can be quite
easy to get in touch with them to find out if they have any issues with
the site design. Their satisfaction will be more important, in the long
run, than the opinion of a professional design firm.
Just my two pesos.
