You can't do any of that without the (digital) product. People might be
happier with aroma therapy, shiatsu massages, gourmet meals and wild sex
parties, but that's not what we are providing. Our work product is the
digital artifact, without which we get nowhere. We can't wish non-digital
attributes into our digital product, it is what it is/does.

I'm not sure what this behavior is supposed to illustrate, but you can
easily have a consulting team do the same after going through
post-it/chewing gum/collaborative/analog dance, too. Otherwise, you'd be in
the uncomfortable position of positing that post-it/chewing
gum/collaborative/analog dance always guarantees perfect product.

Come and observe, Wall Street, for example, where nearly half of the IT jobs
have been outsourced in the past few years. Tell me people are not concerned
about the future of their jobs.
