I'm looking at ways to improve my overall workflow. I'm also looking
for something that works better for this type of stuff than Visio. For
me, that's Illustrator and Freehand.
I know a lot of people who have become accustom to Visio (mostly in
corporate or mandated type environments). And yes, I know people who
actually find Visio to be a great tool for this type of stuff. I'm just
not one of them and I know a lot more who feel the same. For those who
have a choice, or run their own firms, I find that more of them are
doing this in Illustrator/Freehand than Visio. It seems to be a growing
trend.
One of the reasons why Mac compatibility probably hasn't been an issue
is that this field was predominantly dominated by Windows earlier on.
That's starting to shift. Personally, I'm seeing a lot more Mac users
in UE in the past two years. Additionally, I've had several clients
mention the growing number of Macs in the UE community. Not that it
really matters to me, as I'll continue on my platform of choice either
way.
Regardless of what you use, be it Visio, Freehand, Illustrator,
Inspiration, etc. the use of templates, objects, symbols, etc. is a
good practice to have.

In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In reality, they are not.
