You're missing the point.
I'm not trying to convince David (with whom I and others have this exchange,
oh, every 8 months or so), he is incorrigible. :-) It's the others who may
actually have a choice in the matter who can be exposed to a ray of
sunshine. :-)
You say Visio is a tool and there are other tools and people can choose
whatever they want. That's precisely what I want. Nothing more nothing less.
But the next time your boss *tells* you that you need to use Visio because
everybody else is, or the next time your university lab is so conveniently
furnished with Visio to the exclusion of others and your curriculum demands
it, or the next time a job req lists Visio as the *must have*, or the next
time a client of yours returns your PDF docs and demands that you submit
them in Visio, or the next time...well, just remember Visio is just a tool.
And not a very good one at that.
