Isn't a lot of research precisely aimed at proving a point?
Do we need research to find out that secondary windows take ages to 
load, and usually contain advertisements full of useless and often
offensive material?

If I had a million dollars I would launch a research campaign to prove
that 
most secondary windows never see the light of day - users close them 
systematically before they are finished loading their contents.
