The answer to this question has nothing to do with your assertion that users
know their "fault font face, size, monitor size, DPI, etc."

I am willing to bet that the *vast* majority of users would have no earthly
idea what, for example, DPI is, let alone know where to get it. I am also
willing to bet, among other things, that *vast* majority of users wouldn't
know the first thing about the relationship between monitor size and screen
resolution, etc.

Your assumptions are wrong.
