[Sigia-l] WinterTree or WordNet? Sound effects

One of my programmers is asking me about using
WordNet or "WinterTree ThesDB" for a thesaurus
(our sense of thesaurus).

The project she's working on is a Sound Effects
retrieval system. So stuff like sizzling bacon
and slamming doors.

I don't feel these are appropriate tools, but I'd
like to hear your feedback.

1) Has anyone heard of WinterTree ThesDB? If so,
comments?

2) Comments on WordNet as an IR tool?

3) Any suggestions for her? I've searched for
sound taxonomies or thesauri, but have not
located any.

Thanks much!
