[Sigia-l] Forrester Design Summit

I personally have been to some Forrester stuff. I was quite impressed with
their understanding of personas. They worked closely with Cooper on that. I
would say their explanation of persona development was better than anything
I had EVER heard before. Most of the other people in the audience were not
the people who would be DOING the work, just managing the work so I don't
think the other audience members realized the quality they were exposed to.
It was truly the best (clear, step-by-step, methodical) explanation of how
to do "Cooper" type personas. Much better than anything I have ever found
written on the Cooper process of persona development. (including Coopers
own writings). I was very pleased with the session I had gone to and told
the two Forrester presenters how happy I was, but strangely they didn't seem
as excited about the process they had just laid out as I was. Oh well.
I think I know some people who went to that Summit, at least Tuesday May
21st's presentation. I'll get back to you on that.

Subject: [Sigia-l] Forrester Design Summit
I had in my files reference to a summit called "Leading a Winning Design
Effort", sponsored by Forrester, in Los Angeles May 20-21. At least they had
two 'practitioners' on the agenda: Jared Spool and Alan Cooper.
Did anyone attend? As I continue to try and reach analysts to do PR for our
'collective' practices, can anyone report back that the analysts at
Forrester 'get it'? [I haven't been able to reach any Forrester analysts,
yet.]
