Well, page wireframes are a lot easier for most clients to understand,
that's one thing. Of course, they get upset that their site will be all boxy
and black and white.

Of course, one big reason for wireframes is paper prototyping. I've tried
quickie hand drawn ones and found often-ish that people prefer something
slightly more finished: so wireframes.

Again, it's that question of "who are you writing specs for?" Some people
prefer a clear layout in order to grasp site structure and functionality,
some prefer several paragraphs of text that explains the same thing.
