wouldn't that mean that html is also 99% bad? I never gave much credit to
nielson's comments anyway. He had some good points about how not to use
flash, but I believe that no tool can be 99% bad. In fact if used correctly
flash can be pretty awesome for an interface. Anyway I believe that how
good flash is was a point of contention between Jacob and Don.

I remember many years ago when acrylic paints first came out, many of my
artist friends shunned them and complained how horrible they were. But
others took the medium and did great things with it. No tool or medium is
ever bad in itself. And often the additional capabilities add something
good and new to a field.

The quote unquote Gurus don't always know what they are talking about. Plus
how many people wouldn't change their tune for a few million in consulting
fees? And I'd say macromedia is looking to expand the client base for
flash, UI is a logical extension, NN is influential in UI ... makes business
sense. And it could result in some really cool stuff.

Flash runs client side and has a very good saturation rate in the market.
This could really push the UI possibilities to another level - I hope
anyway.
