I'd never do that :-)
My point is that we're not returning any time soon to the lavish budgets and
title proliferations of the dotcom era (when, let's face it, IAs
flourished). This 'reality' may force a structural change whereby IA
functions are assumed by adjacent disciplines.

An example of this is the title 'webmaster'. At one time, it appeared that
you couldn't have websites without webmasters. In fact, they did everything:
design, HTML coding, server setup, content updates, networking, maintenance,
etc. Today the title 'webmaster' is so last-century, almost a shameful
anachronism. 'Webmaster' duties have been divvied up by adjacent
disciplines, as sites got more complex.

IA, which by its nature multi-disciplinary, may be similarly subsumed by
other disciplines as a title. The current economic climate is a catalyst but
not the only cause. Again, I'm not claiming that this will necessarily be
the outcome, but I'm mindful of the fact that background for that to happen
is there.

Best,

Ziya
