Here are a few things I've found while looking around this subject.
There's a somewhat revolutionary take on the "sit up right" take on
ergonomics which is answered by a fellow marketing the "Butterfly
Board":

I know a few users of that who do endless production time (granted,
drawing tablet based, not key entry) who swear by them.
On problem I have is that extended keyboards, especially split ones,
with their numeric keypad are so wide that they put your mouse way
off in right field. Look at the angle of your arm to your body next
time you reach over to your mouse... I've chosen to get around this
with the of so sauve Happy Hacking Keyboard:
http://store.yahoo.com/pfuca-store/
Which keeps my hands lined up with my body when I reach for my mouse.
External numeric pads are available for those who can't live without
one.
The ergonomic consultant I hired Said that walking is one of the best
things for it. He said that if everyone with RSI would walk for an
hour or so pre day that the swinging of the arms helps greatly...
I preach variety. I literally have a mouse, a trackball, a trackpad
(which I never use) and a Wacom tablet all hooked up and I switch
between them. All that and I'm tempted to get a cordless gyro mouse...
And take some breaks. Stare off in the distance. Take a walk.
