You might want to tackle it not so much from a usability point of view, but 
from a branding point of view. Does the company have a strong branding 
department? If so, talk to someone there. They will surely be appalled at 
the user experience these interfaces crate, and you'll have an ally.
Second thing I'd go for is long term strategic reasons: they seem to want 
to go towards an integrated system? Then they must have some long term 
reasons for doing that, play on those, and present this as a first step, 
and maybe as a way to take a cost effective small step towards this greater 
goal.
