The 1st Annual Buffalo-Niagara Post-Genomic Research Conference will be held
on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 on the South Campus of UB. The program will
focus on the next great advancement in life sciences, which will come from
the integration of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics. Speakers from
UB, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the Hauptman-Woodward Institute will
discuss their research in three thematic sessions:
I. Experimental Design and Data Analysis and Management
II. Recent Results in Functional Genomics
III. Innovations in Functional Genomics and Proteomics.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Michael Moran, Chief Scientific Officer of MDS
Proteomics in Toronto, a leading drug discovery company; MDS Proteomics has
built a technology platform that integrates mass spectrometry, cell
signaling and high performance supercomputing to conduct functional
proteomics.
The program runs from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm in Harriman Hall on UB's South
Campus; a reception follows. All are welcome. There is no registration fee
but participants are encouraged to register online. Details of the agenda,
