[NJ ASIST] NJ ASIST to receive Chapter Event of the Year award

Fellow NJ ASIST members,

I’m pleased to share that ASIST has recognized one of the events we did this year for the Chapter Event of the Year award to be given out at the Annual Meeting in Copenhagen next month. See the announcement below.

A big thanks to Rutgers, Pratt, and Drexel Student Chapters of ASIST, along with NJ ASIST officers and volunteers for making this event a big success.

Chapter Event of the Year
The 2016 Chapter Event-of-the-Year Award goes to New Jersey ASIS&T for the first ASIS&T Regional Meeting held at Rutgers University on April 15: https://www.asist.org/events/asist-regional-meeting-2016-rutgers-university/ <https://www.asist.org/events/asist-regional-meeting-2016-rutgers-university/>https://www.asist.org/events/asist-regional-meeting-2016-rutgers- <https://www.asist.org/events/asist-regional-meeting-2016-rutgers->university/. The nomination received high point with a theme of participant engagement.

Reviewers noted the timeliness of the topic, diverse and well-known speakers, and opportunities for students and SIGs engagement. It was well-publicized and well attended, both face to face and virtual. As described by the nominator, this event brought together students chapters from Rutgers, Pratt, and Drexel together in working with the NJ Chapter, setting a good example of chapters could collaborate in mutually beneficial way. In addition to executing a highly successful program, this event created a milestone in ASIS&T and set an example of how ASIS&T could create value for its members at a local level.
