Description: At this workshop, attendees will learn how to conduct
effective reference interviews, incorporate computer based resources and
new technology into library services, how to fill information using
resources beyond the immediate collection, and federal, state, and local
requirements for Internet and computer usage in the library environment.

 

Presenter: Bobbi Newman, a librarian, trainer, and teacher. She serves
as Digital Services Librarian, Missouri River Regional Library in
Jefferson City, MO. Bobbie works at the Reference Desk and trains
patrons and staff about the Social Web and other technology tools. She
is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Missouri, School of

*Thursday, April 9, 2009, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.--Cultural and Community
Center in Detroit Lakes.

*Monday, April 27, 2009, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.--SELCO Headquarters, 2600
18th Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.

*Tuesday, April 28, 2009, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM--Mankato, MN, location to
be determined. 56001. 

*Wednesday, April 29, 2009, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM--Redwood Falls Public
Library, 509 So. Lincoln, Redwood Falls, MN 56283. 

*Thursday, April 30, 2009, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM--St. Cloud Public Library,
1300 West Saint Germain Street on Hwy 23 in St. Cloud, MN 56301. 

 

Cost: No registration fee, grant-funded. As part of the grant,
participants will provide a group or one-on-one patron training session
after the workshop.
