Developing & Demonstrating Your Professional Value:
How to Advance Your Career and
Increase Your Value in the Eyes of Your Employer
Hosted by the Special Library Association, MN Chapter
Wednesday, April 16th, 1-4:00 PM
Thomson University, West Group Campus, Eagan
The New Economy has changed what is expected of us and what
our employer's value. No matter what our position, there is an
expectation that we be entrepreneurs, that we seek creative
avenues to achieve uncommon results, delight our clients and
create a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Of primary concern to many information professionals and
librarians is how to develop and advance in their careers without
having to leave the information center or the company. How does
demonstrating your value to the bottom line translate into your own
professional growth?
To help facilitate answers to these questions, the MN Chapter of the
Special Library Association will host a workshop Wednesday, April
16th
from 1-4:00 PM on how information professionals can create value for
themselves and their employers. Patricia Berg, General Manager of
Personnel Decisions International, Career Management Services
practice
and Peter Sidney, Assistant Vice President for Knowledge
Management at
Cargill will join us to explore how we can create value for our
employer and ourselves.
The cost of this workshop is $40 per person. For more
information and to register, please go to the MN-SLA website at
http://www.sla.org/chapter/cmn/events/e041603.htm.
(Registration information will be posted shortly.)
