Hello, LACASIST Members!

The LA Chapter of ASIST is looking for ASIST members to volunteer and read essay applications for the Graduate Student/Early Career Travel Award.

For the first time ever, the Los Angeles Chapter of ASIS&T is offering travel awards for current graduate students, recent graduates and early career professionals to attend the Information Architecture Summit (http://iasummit.org/) next March in Chicago. Yes, this is a conference organized by ASIST.

The call for submissions is out and we are starting to receive applications. Now we are looking for 3-4 volunteers to review the applications.

To be eligible, you:

• Must be an ASIS&T Member in good standing throughout the term of volunteer service.
• Must be able to commit to the term of service. For the Travel Award Jury Committee, this is about 2-3 hours a month in December PLUS 1 half hour remote meeting in mid-December

We will be reviewing applications in Dec and will announce winners by Dec 31st.

The travel award is an essay contest where 2 applicants will be selected to attend the IA Summit. For 2018, the IA Summit will take place in Chicago from March 21-25, 2018.
