Greetings 'Carolinas Chapter ASIS&T' Enthusiasts!

 

The inaugural board met last month to share ideas about getting the chapter
rolling and we have a few items to share:

 

1.       Programming

a.       We would like to put together a "small scale" lunch or dinner
program in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area this spring - giving folks an
opportunity to meet old and new colleagues and hear from an interesting
presenter or panel.  More details soon.  

 

b.      The idea of a larger scale event warrants geographical consideration
to be inclusive of both NC and SC folks.  So we discussed a workshop type
program for fall 2008 - possibly in Charlotte, NC.  To pull that off we
would definitely need some input from people familiar with that area.  We
will put out a specific call later - but if you are interested in
participating on a  planning group please let me know.  

 

c.       We would love to hear from people outside the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel
Hill area - ideas for distributed programs or opportunities to get folks
involved in the Carolinas Chapter.  

 

2.       Sarah Carrier is working on a fabulous looking website for the
chapter - to help disseminate information.  I think she is also putting
together a Facebook presence for us (hoping we are the first chapter to do
so!).more soon

 

 

Looking forward to working with everyone as we launch the Carolinas Chapter.
