Dear colleagues,
Accreditation affects all the information professions but we don’t
critically consider its benefits, challenges and impacts outside of
libraries often enough. I invite you to read this blog post: *What does
“accreditation” mean to the information professions? And is it worthwhile?*
<https://www.asist.org/what-does-accreditation-mean-to-the-information-professions-and-is-it-worthwhile/>
It
is an opportunity for you to learn and engage in an open discussion.
And consider attending one of the upcoming webinars of the ALA Task Force
on the Future of Accreditation
<http://www.ala.org/news/member-news/2016/08/ala-task-force-context-future-accreditation-webinars>
(Aug
25, Aug 31 and Sep 2).
We all benefit by participating in these conversations.
Sincerely,
Bill Kules
