Library Research Round Table Discussion Forum: Solving Tomorrow’s
Problems through Analysis of Data (http://alamw13.ala.org/node/8804)
When: Sunday, January 27, 2013 - 1:00pm to 2:30pm
Location: Sheraton Seattle Hotel; Ballard
Description: All libraries face challenges related to finances,
technology, information production and other sources. Using
quantitative and qualitative data to investigate the challenges and to
search for solutions will become increasingly important if libraries
are to respond effectively to demands being placed on them.
Speakers: Three panelists, Scott Seaman, Dean of Ohio University
Libraries; Stanley Wilder, University Librarian at the University of
North Carolina, Charlotte; and Susan Searing, Interim Associate
University Librarian for User Services/Associate Dean of Libraries,
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, who are well-versed in the
kinds of problems libraries face, will establish a framework for
discussion and will create the stage for audience participation in the
exploration of problems and solutions.
