Debora Shaw appointed Dean of SLIS

Indiana University Executive Vice President and Bloomington campus Provost Karen Hanson has announced that she has appointed Debora Shaw Dean of the School of Library and Information Science, effective September 1, 2011.

Provost Hanson noted that Dean Shaw, a member of the school’s faculty since 1988, “has received strong support from SLIS faculty and staff as interim dean. She has served with distinction as interim, providing energetic and effective leadership of the school.”

She concluded, “I am confident that Ralf’s years of experience, her unstinting commitment to SLIS, and her excellent administrative judgment will allow the school to continue what has been a tradition of excellence.”
